London Fam Trip

Tracy Lonsdale

I was lucky enough to attend a Fam trip to London this month to visit the Maybourne hotels, which include The Connaught, The Berkeley and Claridge’s Hotel.  All the hotel’s were absolutely stunning, and located in very central parts of  London (Mayfair, and Knightsbridge).

I stayed at the Connaught Hotel and I have to say I wouldn’t of been upset if I never had to leave my suite. The large free-standing bathtub featured a TV at one end. The shower had a overhead waterfall head and the bath amenities were amazing and added to the over all very relaxed environment.  The bed was pillow topped and beyond comfortable and there was plenty of room to entertain a few guests.  The hotel was perfectly decorated in old English elegance-I felt as I was walking into a small palace. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to my every need. My room was cleaned twice daily, they provided me with an adapter for my chargers and came in to personally show me how the electronic lighting system worked.  The Connaught features the only Aman spa not at an Aman property. The spa has several treatment rooms where guests can receive very specialized treatments based on personal need and includes a beautiful stone pool.

Although,  I did not stay at the other two properties I got a feel for them through site tours and they are all truly unique and amazing in their own way. Claridge’s is a bit more loud with a grand dining room and intended for those who want to be seen and The Berkeley more quiet but modern (featuring an amazing gym with views of the park). The restaurants at all properties carry Michelin stars and were flawless- my favorite being Koffman’s  at The Berkeley. There is no doubt a Maybourne property to suit anyone’s travel needs and desires.

I was also able to take a ride on the London eye and got a glimpse of the entire amazing city. There is so much to see, I will definitely have to return again!
